In 1972 ...John Ton (pronounced "TUNN"), still in high school, crafted his first hand-lettered sign. Since those days, he has built an outstanding reputation as a local, friendly, experienced sign maker and graphic artist, creating beautiful signs throughout Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino counties. He has created beautiful murals all over the coastal region. He founded Petaluma Sign Company and maintains a principal interest in the company. John's passion, now as a one-person operation, is creating truly beautiful signs that will attract the customers you want, by subtly telling a bit of a story  about who you are, and what you're selling.

VERY FUNNY

I wish I could claim that I painted this famous mural at the Punch Line in San Francisco - the original artist is not known - I only added some updated imagery, and the logo.

Yup ... Starbucks sends me an interesting commission now and then. This is a "halo lit" sign - it has LEDs inside that give it a glow.

Reflective letters really help when a sign is located along the road.

Kind of a fun one - the cut-out shapes give this one a friendly appeal.

Look how tight that lettering is!

We do it with a mask, and some special little tricks to keep the paint from bleeding.
